We work with solicitors, accountants, airlines, manufacturers and training businesses, along with many others. Different industries, but often the same challenges, and we’ve spent two decades getting to know them well.

Where we started

CCS was established in 2004 by Steven Pretlove, who saw an opportunity to help local businesses become more capable and more efficient through better use of technology. That idea hasn’t changed much since, even as the technology itself has moved on considerably.

From early on, we invested in training our team properly. That’s what allowed us to become recognised Microsoft partners from the start, and it’s why our engineers continue to hold the certifications the industry demands.

Steve’s involvement in the industry goes beyond CCS itself. He has served as Chair of CompTIA UK&I Community, the trade association for the IT industry, and has sat on partner advisory boards helping shape products and solutions aimed at small businesses. He has also spoken at a number of industry events, including CompTIA, the Managed Services Summit, and IT Nation Connect Europe.

Our accreditations

Each one reflects an external check on how we actually do things, not just what we say about ourselves.

CompTIA AccredITUK TrustMark +

We’re proud to be the only IT provider in Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire to hold the CompTIA AccreditUK Trustmark+.

CompTIA, the IT industry’s trade association, carried out a detailed assessment of how CCS operates, looking at whether we meet recognised standards for delivering ICT services, not just whether we say we do. It’s vendor-neutral, so it isn’t tied to promoting any particular product or manufacturer, only to how well the work itself is done.

Cyber Essentials Plus

Cyber Essentials is the UK government-backed cyber security standard. It checks that a business has the basic protections in place against the most common cyber attacks, and the Plus version adds an independent technical audit on top of that.

Holding this matters in a couple of ways. It means our own systems meet the standard, and it’s increasingly something clients and their own customers expect to see, sometimes as a condition of doing business at all.

We’re also an IASME-accredited Cyber Essentials certification body, so if you need support getting your own business through the Cyber Essentials process, that’s something we can help with directly.

IASME Governance Gold

The IASME Governance audit goes further than Cyber Essentials, looking more broadly at cyber security practice and GDPR compliance.

We hold the Gold standard, and we’re also IASME Governance assessors ourselves.

That means if GDPR compliance or a wider governance assessment is something your business needs to work through, we can advise on it directly rather than pointing you elsewhere.
