Why are updates important?
We’ve all been there. You need to get on with some work and suddenly an update notice pops up. Updates can take different amounts of time but it’s the longer ones that can be the most frustrating when you just want to get on.
However, it really is essential that you don’t put them off or worst still, skip them.
Updates contain fixes for any issues that users are experiencing with the software. More importantly though, updates contain critical patches for any security problems.
So by updating to the latest version of the software, you are ensuring you are protecting your system from known threats, and reducing the potential for cybercrime.
As part of the Government backed Cyber Essentials scheme, updates are mandatory, as is applying them within 14 days.
